Shipping & Returns
We offer fast, trackable UK and international delivery — and a fair returns policy that’s simple, clear, and easy to use.
SHIPPING
Triaged, tracked and transported.
How will my order be packaged?
We pack all orders in 100% recycled plastic mailing bags — lightweight, durable, and fully recyclable.
They protect your yarn from moisture during transit while keeping packaging waste to a minimum. We don’t use boxes or excess fillers unless absolutely necessary, so your parcel stays compact and eco-conscious.
When will my order be dispatched?
All orders are dispatched the same day or the next working day, depending on when your order is placed. We’ll send you a confirmation email as soon as it’s on its way.
How long does delivery take?
UK orders typically arrive within 2 working days via Royal Mail Tracked 48.
International orders usually take 5–10 working days, depending on your zone and local customs.
Will I be able to track my order?
Yes. All parcels are sent using Royal Mail’s fully tracked services, and you can monitor your parcel using the tracking link we provide.
Which mailing zone am I in?
Your shipping zone depends on your delivery address and determines your postage cost and estimated delivery time.
Countries are grouped into UK, Europe Zones 1–3, and World Zones 1–3, following Royal Mail’s international zones. To find out which zone you’re in, just refer to the colour-coded world map and zone tables below.

SHIPPING
Price transparency.
How much is UK shipping?
UK delivery is free when you buy any two or more balls from the Sock Flock range — across any colour combination.
For single-ball orders, you can choose from:
- £3.45 (estimated 1–2 working days
- £2.99 (estimated 2–3 working days)
Our checkout will show both options, and we’ll always pass on carrier pricing with no extra fees or handling charges. We believe in clear, transparent shipping — no surprises at checkout.
How much is international shipping?
International shipping is based on the number of balls in your order and your mailing zone (Europe Zones 1–3 or World Zones 1–3).
Our rates match Royal Mail's published pricing, and we don’t add any handling or markup. Your exact shipping cost will be shown automatically at checkout once you enter your address.
Shipping prices are calculated transparently by weight, with a small allowance built in for packaging. This ensures the cost reflects the true parcel weight — helping us charge fairly and avoid undercharging for heavier orders.
You can check your zone and mailing cost using the mailing zone map above, and pricing table below.

DELIVERY & RETURNS
If something goes wrong.
My order hasn’t arrived — what should I do?
First, check your tracking link (included in your dispatch email) for delivery updates.
If your parcel is overdue or seems stuck, email us at help@yarnbyclarke.com — we’ll investigate and put things right quickly.
My item is missing, damaged or incorrect — what now?
We’re really sorry! Please contact us within 7 days of delivery with a photo and brief description.
We’ll replace the item or issue a refund — no fuss, no long forms.
What if my parcel is returned to you?
If a parcel is returned due to an incomplete or incorrect address, we’ll contact you to confirm next steps.
We can resend it (you may need to cover re-shipping), or offer a refund minus postage.
Can I return my order if I’ve changed my mind?
Yes — we accept returns within 30 days of delivery, as long as the yarn is unused and in its original packaging.
Return postage is your responsibility unless we’ve made a mistake.
I'm an international customer — can I return my order?
Yes — international returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery, as long as the yarn is unused and in resaleable condition. Return postage is your responsibility.
We recommend using a tracked service and clearly marking the parcel as “Returned Goods” to avoid additional customs charges. Any import duties charged on unmarked returns may be deducted from your refund.

Red Tape? Import taxes and duties - what to expect.
If you’re ordering from outside the UK, please be aware that import taxes, duties, and courier handling fees may apply once your parcel reaches your country. These charges are set by your local customs authority and are your responsibility to pay.
We don’t collect or include these fees at checkout — instead, you’ll be contacted by your postal service or courier if anything is due before delivery. This is standard practice for international orders and known as Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU).
For more detail, we recommend checking your country’s import rules or thresholds before placing your order.
